In Love

We decided to take professional family photos in Maui and here is the first batch. I am absolutely in love with these photos.  Or maybe it just is me in love with my family.

Tyler Swimming

Tyler's swimming lesson used to be dreadful...crying at every lesson.  If he swam with us, he was all smiles. Making it just that much more disappointing that his lessons were full of tears.  Like so many things, it was a phase that was over in 6 weeks. And now, every week he gets better and better and he LOVES it.

There is one video that shows how he knows to hold on to the wall and 'take the train' (i.e. move with his hands along the wall) back to the step.

Another video shows that he is already learning 'chicken airplane soldier' (i.e. an actual stroke)

We're proud.

"It's all going by so fast"

"It's all going by so fast" Brett said with nostalgia in his voice as we were looking through some photos last night.
Yes, that is Tyler...I hardly recognize him myself.

She's found her first fault

Being a mom of young children has many benefits but one that I try my hardest to imprint on my mind is that they think you are amazing, perfect and flawless. I know that will change ever so quickly and during those teenage years, we'll be hard pressed to remember this.

Maybe the time has already come since Julia is already finding a fault with me.  This is what she does when I sing to (her music, btw) in the car.

Underwater Fun

While in Maui, we had family photos taken.  We found someone that takes the standard beach photos but also does underwater photos in the pool.  Here is just a couple of photos that we've received so far.  Even though Julia's eyes look a bit wonky, they're a fun way to capture all the pool time we had there.

I admit, I'm obsessed

Occasionally, I experience a bit of an obsession with certain types of food.  It happens about a few times of year and I get really really into one type of food for a significant period of time.   If my memory is correct, here is the list of past obsessions:
 - Minneolas
 - Pink Lady Apples
 - Kale
 - Navel Oranges
 - Muscat Grapes

During these obsessive periods, I can eat 3 apples in one sitting or a HUGE kale salad or an entire pound of muscat grapes.  My latest obsession however is not found in the produce aisle.  Have you tried these little morsels that you can eat at your desk and makes you believe you are having a great plate of sushi?

I warn you, don't keep in your desk drawer.
